The female genitalia has a hairbearing area over the pubic bone called mons, outer lips (hear-bearing lips) called labia majora, inner lips called labia minora. Urethral opening and vaginal opening is between labia minoras.
The most common complaints about the female genital area are the presence of long labium minus or vaginal relaxation and enlargement.
The presence of long labia minoras can cause pain from twisting during intercourse, itching or self-consciousness. The labiaplasty is the procedure that reduces the length of the labia minora and relieves the symptoms . In the operation the extra tissue is removed, trimed and sewn up directly. The procedure can be performed under either local anesthesia or under general anesthesia in the hospital.
For the vaginal relaxation and enlargement, the most effective treatment option is vaginoplasty (other alternatives are noninvasive vaginal tightening with radiofrequency waves or laser). Vaginoplasty is a surgical procedure that thightens the vagina through removing mucosa from the back side of vaginal wall. It is performed under general anesthesia. Patients should have rest for one week however there is no intercourse for six weeks. The aim of this procedure is a tighter vaginal canal, which may help enhance sexual satisfaction.
